If you’ve ever thought about setting up your own business, this event is one to attend.
The keynote speaker is alumna Harriet Kelsall, award-winning jeweller and entrepreneur. Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery has won numerous national awards for design, retail, ethics and recognition of a business model which brought design led bespoke jewellery to the high street. After telling the story of her journey growing a kitchen table creative start-up into a vibrant 40-strong team, she passes on her tips on starting and growing a business. During this illustrated talk, Harriet includes images of a few interesting commission examples .
As well as being a successful jeweller, Harriet is also passionate about helping creative businesses flourish. She’s turned this passion into her first book - The Creative’s Guide to Starting a Business: How to turn your talent into a career - a practical guide which has already won the Best Start-Up Inspirational Book Award at the 2019 Business Book Awards.
Harriet's talk will be followed by a panel session, featuring alumna Jane Gomez (Try Time, bubbleHUB) and alumna Sarah Jones (Wilderness PR), who will share their stories and answer any questions. We will also be joined by STANTA – the St Albans Enterprise Agency – who will talk about the help and support available locally.
The talk will start promptly at 6.30pm and the event will finish at about 7.30pm, followed by drinks and networking.
