We were delighted to welcome back our former students, aged 60 upwards, to the annual OWLs Lunch that took place at the Senior School on Wednesday 13 March. It was wonderful to witness heartwarming reunions among old friends and see both some familiar faces but also welcome some alumni who hadn't been back to School for over 40 years.
Whilst guests arrived, we enjoyed a delightful piano recital by our talented Year 12 student, Komachi Paine. We were also joined by our new Chaplain, Rev. Rosie, who took the time to meet all of the alumni guests and hear about their time at School over a delicious buffet lunch.
After lunch, we heard from Assistant Head of Academic Development, Jonathan Marshall, along with two Year 9 students, who talked to the guests about their life as students at STAHS today. This included a brief overview of the Teach to 25 stratergy and naturally, a House point update, causing much debate and amusment throughout the room as old House loyalties came to the fore!
Guests then joined a tour of the School and were amazed by the expansion of the school site and the modern faciilities now availiable to the students. We closed the day with tea and delicious brownies, whilst browsing the archive material on display. It was truly a memorable day for everyone and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year.
