Alumni Anniversary Reunion 2023 - event photos

On a lovely sunny day on Saturday 29 April, we welcomed back the Classes of 2018, 2013, 2003, 1993, 1983 and 1973 to celebrate their 5th, 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th and 50th anniversaries since leaving School. Guests arrived in the Rotunda to enjoy coffee and biscuits whilst catching up with old friends, who in many cases hadn't been reunited for years. Alumni also enjoyed a display of archive material taken from the years they had been at School.

A drinks reception followed, where guests were joined by Head, Amber Waite, who spoke to alumni about her background as an oceanographer in the USA, what brought her to STAHS and her vision for the School - highlighting the Teach to 25 philosophy which focuses on preparing students for real life after STAHS. Mrs Waite's talk was followed by speeches from Head of School, Sophie Beighton and Deputy Head of School, Tishe Alofayan, who shared their personal experiences of what STAHS is like today from both academic and pastoral perspectives.

Guests then enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch in the Jubilee Hall, with tables dressed in the School colours. It was wonderful to hear the excited chatter across the room as old friends swapped news and classmates re-connected.

After lunch, each year group went outside for their class photo, before joining guided tours of the Senior School - invoking many shared memories of how much the School had changed since their time. Visiting the Sixth Form Centre, which opened in 2020, was mentioned by many alumni as a particular highlight, with many commenting how fantastic the facilities are for today's Sixth Formers.

Tea and cake rounded off what was a truly wonderful day for everyone who attended. The photos from the event can be found in the gallery below.

We are already looking forward to welcoming back the Classes of 1974, 1984, 1994, 2004, 2014 and 2019 in May 2024!
