Amber Waite, Head at STAHS, said: “I am so delighted for the girls at STAHS who have earned an outstanding set of GCSE results – testament to their hard work and dedication over the past several years. And what an accomplishment! I am particularly impressed with the girls’ performance in the STEM subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science and Mathematics), where they returned 97% grades 9-7. It always feels a bit superficial discussing exam results as percentages, because these statistics can mask tremendous individual success stories. Amongst these stories are the 67 girls who achieved 9 or more grades 9-7, the 34 girls who earned 6 or more grade 9s, the 40 girls who earned 3 or more grade 9s in STEM subjects and the 4 girls who earned a clean sweep of grade 9s across all of their subjects.
"When I accepted the post of Head of STAHS, I knew that I would be joining an elite institution bursting at the seams with intelligent, capable and dedicated students, therefore I am not at all surprised by their achievements. Well done to all of the girls and also to their teachers and parents, who often feel every step of the examination journey as acutely as their pupils and daughters! I know there will be many well-earned celebrations this weekend, and I am hugely looking forward to getting to know these remarkable young women as they take the next step of their educational journey in the Sixth Form.”
The key results as they stand include:
90.2% level 9-7
99.6% level 9-5
37% of students earned 6 or more grade 9s
97% of grades in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science and Maths were level 9-7
